Country Club Estates/Elk’s Club

Country Club Estates gets its name because of its close proximity to both Lake Tahoe Golf Course and Paradise Golf Course. Elks Club Drive, the street that connects Hwy 50 to Pioneer Trail, used to be the site of the original Elks Club which was torn down some years ago. The old Elks Club location is now a parking lot which is used by many locals and visitors as a starting point for kayaking and floating down the Upper Truckee River, which meanders through meadows and forests ending as it floats into the Tahoe Keys Marsh and Lake Tahoe. It is also the home of a weekly flea market.
The neighborhood winds though a small hill side so some of the lots are larger and mostly sloping downhill allowing for some incredible views of Mount Tallac and the Lake. The neighborhood consists of primarily newer homes with a few older ranch and cabin style homes mixed in. It is considered a desirable neighborhood. Although in the county, this neighborhood is only minutes away from everything South Lake Tahoe has to offer.
